thigh bone fracture
PFNA 2

An intertrochanteric or subtrochanteric fracture is a break in the upper portion of the femur (thighbone). Most hip fractures occur in elderly patients whose bones have become weakened by osteoporosis. When a hip fracture occurs in a younger patient, it is typically the result of a high-energy event, such as a fall from a ladder or vehicle collision. We have operated this case with PFNA 2 and we were the first hospital in Aurangabad to perform PFNA2. Previously these types of fracture were treated with long term immobilization which was very inconvenient especially for elderlies. With availability of modern technologies and instruments IT fracture can be operated quickly. Large number of cases we operated have excellent results and patient are able to stand next day of operation and can walk 2 weeks post-surgery.
